Ranger Tivao

Now Tivao has been just about everywhere, but things with him took a new turn when he was introduced to RealmsQuest. As RQ was a D&D styled game, I figured trying to bring in a Kitsune would not exactly go over well. It wasn't World of Darkness after all. So I figured, well I've been playing an Avariel for years as Rizzen so I know it to perfection. I decided to try for an Avariel, which to say the very least, is quite the exotic race for a group of relatively normal people. Also, as I am vastly more used to the psionic system than any other class but hey, I had an exotic race, didn't need to push it.

SO I made Tivao a ranger. Which was also exotic in itself as Avariel aren't even supposed to become rangers! But as my background make enough sense as to why he would be one of the odd man outs, it was allowed. This incarnation of Tivao is a lot different and yet still holds some of the elements that most people know me for. As with most of my characters nowadays (no thanks to Rizzen for that!!), he is abnormally 'pretty' for a guy. In fact I worked it in that he is capable of disguising himself as a female if necessary and most people wouldn't know the difference.

He has a noble background, which fuels his honor-bound tendencies and all kinds of family problems, including being a veritable twin to his late mother (which accounts for his somewhat effeminate looks). However all of these things add up to a source of constant angst to him as he struggles through major identity problems, especially if he's forced into the 'Terra' act and has to dress as a female. Unless someone constantly helps him joke about it, Tivao will tend to drop into an almost oblivion of depression. In fact, at one point his best friend's ex-love saw him dressed as a her sitting with his current love in his room (Tiv and the guy were roommates) and called him a Whore. That pitched Tivao headfirst into a thunderous dementia of mortification, to the point that for a while he lost himself in the act! See, despite all the craziness, Tivao knows he really IS a man and this is just an act for protective reasons. To be fully mistaken as a woman or else considered as a monster or somehow evil because of it, is probably one of the most horrifying things that could happen to him.

Tivao's nature, oddly enough, is somewhat of polar opposites. A man who looks female, diplomatic and honorable, yet he could be as brutally vindictive as nature itself when he must be. He's nobility (almost royalty actually!) and yet he's lived the life of barbarians and tree-huggers. Luckily not many need to see that side of him as it would probably disturb them. :D In general he's a nice guy, but as he told the group. He has absolutely no problem with vengeance. Sometimes, he won't rest right until he's done that. His nature as a Guardian is absolute. If you screw with him, someone he cares about, or his forest… start running. Because if you've read it on this site, 'Tivao' basically means 'Devil' and there would be hell to pay once he gets loose.

And even then you wouldn't be running fast enough.

Many of my friends figure that Tiv’s identity crisis would make him not want to be able to look like a female. Actually (again an opposite) he is almost obsessed with not losing it! He still blames himself for his priestess mother’s death and made himself into a living memorial to her. Of course this uncanny look-alike tormented his father and haunts Tivao every day.

The game has moved from RQ to Crystal Cove, Tivao still hanging out with his new friends whom he cherishes (he doesn’t have many as you probably guessed). Particularly the rogue Grivon, whom he gave one of his feathers to and basically elevated the man to the level of a brother. Grivon has been on the attack with Tivao about the whole Terra thing, teasing him mercilessly (but all in fun of course) even to the point of coaxing the poor Avariel to model a set of sky blue, silk lingerie!! ((Which Tivao was disturbingly pretty in. *sweats* I’m shocked one of my artist friends didn’t draw that by now... I only wait the day -_-;;)) Of course instead of getting upset about it, Tivao finds these light-hearted games almost therapeutic (go figure!). Grivon is actually HELPING him deal with it by making it a joke or game. Of course I doubt anyone was ready for Tiv sitting around half-in, half-out of the lingerie and declaring that he didn’t exactly have feminine modesty (!!!).

Well… so… he was changing at the time and he DOESN’T so there! :P

I think this is one of the most fun incarnations of Tivao that I’ve ever had! The cast and DMs of Crystal Cove are very, VERY tolerant of my eccentric nature and bizarre character. Instead of balking, they are encouraging me to stretch my imagination and make this very exotic and weird character live and breath. Ashlan understands his mood swings more than anyone (she’s an empath, woo hoo!!). Oros and Evy follow his creed to honor nature. Ti’arre is a constant source of fun and magic and teaches him how to be a proper lady when things aren’t going into hell in a hand basket (*ROTFLMAO*!). And then there's Grivon... nuff said. ;P I can only thank them all deeply for this one. It’s so rare to find such great RPers as that!

Game on!
